Following the breaking news report in www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com on Monday that Psquare, a popular hip hop group in Nigeria, alleging that Hip Hop World award was a total shame to the entertainment sector, bloggers and opinion makers have said the group has no case at all.
When the case was brought for hearing on that same day, the elder brother of the group and their manager, Mr.Jude Okoye disclosed that the award should be seen as a tribal attack and a slap on the entertainment industry. He cited certain authorities as defence.He told celebrity court that Ayo Animashaun and other members of Hip Hop World award only gave awards to people from the south west origin except 2face, Timaya and Rugged man.
However, comments emanating from bloggers show that people are angry with the group for dragging Hip Hop World Award before the celebrity court. They referred to previous editions where Psquare carted home award. They did not raise eyebrow or call it a tribal award at that time. Hip Hop World Award’s counsel was absent in court.However,Comments,text messages and calls so far received by the blog shows that the group shouldn’t have dragged the award organizers before the celebrity court.
There are plans by celebrity court to set up a special panel to look into the demands of Psquare.If they are just then,HHWA would be ordered to present Psquare with a special recognition award. Further hearing has been slated for tomorrow at www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com Court 1

Actually the APPROACH of P Square was wrong but I have to be honest and say that the quality of the Do Me Video was far better than stylee....

PSQ deserved better than they got. Maybe they crossed the boundary with regards to their comments, but their songs and video was better than some of the winners. Personally, Styles was a forced to listen song, they played it so many times that you had to start singing, its just an OK song.. I hope this sort of decisions from the organisers would not eventually diminish the reputation of the award. The fact of the matter is that, I think the organisers are only trying to balance winners, but they forget that, once you are good, you are good. They do not maintain that right to balance, all these other start up musicians are seldom good, look at 9ice, this guy only game to limelight in less than: 2yrs, and he was and still is a major hit, he's good, so make we leave story, anyone who knows animashaun should tell him that those start ups, need to good to deserve an award not win it out of sympathy, Game Over was and still is a good collection of songs, thats why people dance to it.
ReplyDeleteItis very very obvious that the awards organisers are beefing Psquare,but i kno it is only God that can judge that. if somebody is good,he is good,Psquare is good and nobody needs to be angry about that>HOW CAN THE STYLEE VIDEO WIN AT THE EXPENSE OF DO ME?ANYWAY AM NOT SURPRISED BCOS IT WAS DIRECTED BY DJ TEE WHO IS THE HUSBAND OF JOKE,THE SECOND IN COMMAND TO AYO ANIMASHAUN.

U see whether they win an award or not, they doenst change they victorious logo.I personally ave a great spot for this dudes nd they rock as far as Nigeria, nd d rest of africa is concerned. OTHER ARTIST, pls cut P-SQUARE some slacks and let them b, u can withold their rites of winning, but certainly not their talent.FOR ME, P-SQUARE IS DA BOMB.
