As the count down begins to April 22nd the premiere date of Ghetto Dreamz a biopic on late rapper Dagrin, Trybson the Stingomania’s hip hop sensation who acted as Dagrin in the movie bares his heart on his role in the movie.
Trybson who according to Daniel Adenimokan the director of the movie got the role because of his peculiar nature to the character says playing the role of Dagrin goes beyond just reciting lines and acting in front of the camera, you need to be really into the character to understand how to effectively deliver your lines. I am usually on my toes to deliver my best’.
Asked as the lead character of the movie Ghetto Dreams to paint a picture of what he thought was the usual day to day lifestyle of the late rapper and he said ‘ Dagrin lived the life of a young rapper who was just chasing his dreams. He also had to go through so much in his bid to become what he wanted to be. His background was not really different from that of most youths in the ghetto who battle with so many odds. Fitting into his role is not that hard because the kind of life he lived is not different from the kind of life I live’.
Ghetto Dreamz chronicles the life and times of Dagrin. It features the early life of the rapper, his rise to fame and circumstances that surrounds his death. Other than Trybson, Ghetto Dreamz feature other nollywood stars like Doris Simeon, Rachel Oniga, Pa Kasumu, Kenny Saint brown, Jaywon and a fast rising Oyindamola Odesola and others.
The producer of the movie Ope Banwo, speaking on the movie said we have no doubt the movie will do well in the cinema as Dagrin is loved by all and a lot of his fans still miss him. The report we are getting shows a lot of people are looking forward to the movie’s premier and arrival in the cinema and I can assure them that they will not be disappointed.
