WANT TO BE PART OF THE KOKOMASION WITH D'BANJ?THE FORM IS OUT

At last, young Nigerian girls that have been enthusiastic about getting into the famous Koko Mansion, now have the opportunity to do so. A statement signed by HiTV’s Public Relations Manager, Justin Akpovi-Esade, revealed that the road leading to Koko Mansion, a reality show, is now a click away as revealed by Morayo Aka-Bashorun, HiTV’s Business Development and Sales Manager. All, the potential Kokolette needs to do, Aka-Bashorun said, is to “walk into any GTBank branch nationwide and pay the sum of N5, 000 (five thousand naira only) into the Koko Mansion Account. The Kokolette is advised to keep her teller number for registration. She should thereafter key in the teller number and GTBank branch number on the kokomansion.tv website which will make her have access to the application forms.” She continued: “In case she is without her portrait, she has an option to either save her data or cancel the application until she's back with her portrait, which she downloads on her form. After application, she clicks on Submit and it is sent to the IBST officer. GTBank sends us a daily list of confirmed payment, which we forward to IBST. Only applicants whose payment have been verified are contacted via email and advised to look out in the newspapers to know when we'll be coming to their neighbourhood for screening. There will however be auditions in three zones, Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt cities,” Aka-Bashorun said. Meanwhile, barely a day after the release of the application procedures, hundreds of applications have been received. Aka-Bashorun reacts: “I am not surprised, when an idea is a brilliant one that will eventually impact positively on the society, people do not have a choice than to embrace it, that is Koko Mansion.” She cleared the air on some perceived notions about the show billed to start very soon. “I want to state that this show is not about looking for a wife for D’banj, no, it is about the search for an ideal African woman with the right qualities that a man is looking for.” Koko Mansionrevolves around the quest of 12 beautiful, talented girls that will live in a mansion for eight weeks, to become the ideal Kokolette (wife). The Mansion is situated in an undisclosed area in Lagos. Hip hop superstar D’banj will play a vital role in the oncoming show. In these weeks, the young women will be groomed and tested in various activities in order to determine the one with the greatest Koko Virtues, worthy of being a wife –a Kokolette. Also, the Actors Guild of Nigeria is the first body to endorse the show being packaged by HiTV, Nigeria and Africa’s fastest growing satellite company. The Guild through its president, popular actor Ejike Asiegbu, has described Koko Mansion as the biggest thing that will happen in the entertainment horizon this year. The show is expected to begin in June.

  2. thats rip off oh...y do they have 2 pay 4 registration...it's a reality show not brain surgery. HiTV shud rectify this...

BTW...the campaign for this show is obnoxious...TV shows cannot define wife material. That's preposterous...There goes the patriarchy way of boxing women into categories. I dont buy the idea. IF hitv wants to present a reality show about kokolettes...and Dbanj wants it to be the real deal...fine. Otherwise let it be for just the fun. No jargon about wife material. Ridiculous. *roll eyes*

  3. YOu got to pay to register for the show? lol. aint that like the lottery, by the time 100,000 girls pay 5,000 they got the money to pay the girl that wins. ha ha. I don't think anybody pays to register for reality show in America. wow. sad thing is nigerians will pay too to be dbanj's kokolette. lol

  4. Some people say it is glorified prostitution. I dnt think so. It is a way of females showcasing their confidence in handling a man. I mean, c'mon, some females as well as males dnt know jack on how to handle relationship issues. So, i think D'banj is giving them a chance to. I think D'banj should be encouraged more, at least, he is true to himself and his roots. Well, for the contestants and majar kokolette to be, i say goodluck....

  5. So does this mean that HiTv doesn't have sponsorship that they have to pass the cost of the show onto the contestants or are they just that greedy? Do they not realize that these girls on the VH1 reality shows get paid a per diem rate for each day the spend in the homes, and are recruited online and on casting calls for FREE. So freaking cheap.

  6. This is so embarassing, there are not words to express how embarassing this whole mess is to good, well bred Nigerian women at home and in the diaspora. The women at the clubs and music video set are not enough, this is a new avenue to meet women of loose morals. I hope your mother is happy with D'Banj. She should ask herself if she would allow her daughter to go on a show like this if it was someone else's son organizing it. It is obvious his mother has NOT influence on him otherwise he wouldn't make this kind of decision. I hope you are saving your money, young man because fame, youth and beauty are fleeting. Your brand of music is NOT classic, you can be famous today and tomorrow you are a laughing stock...do your write your own music, are you in control of your artistic destiny or are you a machine controlled and used by other to make money? Save your money and use a condom otherwise you will be written up on the back pages of a magazine either as a broke, once relevant artist OR dead from AIDS! You are NOT role model to the young people of Nigeria.

  8. okay - ever heard of the show Flavour Flav -come now be original.. same concept, same filth and same reality that us human being crave for. Sad i know but still someone getting rich out of it, i still think a real woman doesnt have to go through this rigor to secure a hubby!! even if his ass is fine as D'Banj

  9. @comment above - who tok say D'banj fine sef? If you comot dose glasses which he probably wears to the bathroom, you no sabi wetin dey behind dere o LOLOLOLMAO, the man fit woh woh pass kpomo for Obalende LMAO! I have always thought that a man who has to wear shades all the time, in and out, night or day is a man who lacks the confidence to face the world, opened eyed and head on. D'banj na pickin, other people are using him to make money but making a fool of him in the process and devaluing his star power. I hope someone will ask him in 20 years to look back and say if he's proud of this upcoming show especially AFTER he's had a kid or two...possible a daughter.

  11. Well, this is really wrong knowing the kind of person the so called Dbanj represents. Others comments have clearly spelt out the ills of this whatever mansion. This is evil and cheapens womanhood. Because of the rush for fame, money and getting to meet the so called Dbanj, many young girls will sell themselves cheap and even pay to get close to this so called sex symbol to the world of false people. I wish he had someone morally upright that he listens to. But he really either doesn't have a moral family member or he doesn't listen. The other collaborators are out to make money and fame while the girls rushing to be on the set are either confirmed or new recruit corporate prostitutes. So sorry but this is my candid opinion. Let them exercise their freedom of association right. I will not use the products or services of any partner or sponsor of this ill thought of madness.

  12. I would suggest that we start with Morayo Aka-Bashorun, HiTV’s Business Development and Sales Manager daughter or wife or aunty or sister and mother. This is a worse insult to our women. My advice to D'banj, this is your time, use it well, seek wisdom from older musicians like KSA, Ebenezer Obey and others so you can also a legacy which your children and future generation would be proud.

  13. All over the world, people are busy duplicating ideas, so what is all the fuss about Koko Mansion, Flavour or flavourless colours of love or hate? And someone suggested no money be charged. Nigerians with free things. Maybe government should not charge anybody for water or electricity bcos na essential comodity. Lets see how d show will be first, so lets bottle our acidic criticism till its over. JBL

  14. Haters, you guys don't seem to like Dbanj's gut. Admit it haters, the boy is successful. If his popularity declines today, he will not be the first. Where is Felix Liberty, Jide Obi, Alex O... the list is endless. Let the young man enjoy himself and stop beefing him. You will be surprised how many girls have registered by now. Like Lagos agberos will say, No More Person!

  15. Celia Modupe Ogunleye, you must be a frustrated spinster or something. Your comment reeks of deep seated hatred for dbanj. Take a cold shower, you are backing a wrong horse. Has dbanj done half of what charlei boy did and still doing? Don't you know that artistes have two lives; the one they use in making money and the real self? Charly boy/Charles Oputa, Dbanj/Dapo Oyebanji or whatever. Cecy, 'ro' onu, think.

  16. Okay, kool. Frank and co. Don't just yab, send your sisters above 18yrs to the mansion and lets see who is player hater. Abi we look like 2pac or the likes for your eye. U never marry and fear no go let u marry, because you no trust your girlfriends. That's what we are talking about. Spoil them and get a decent one is guys like u philosophy.

  17. Koko Mansion may not be that exciting as expected, I will rather wait to see what will happen. So, i reserve my comment, but I know Nigerians, na so dem beef Big Brother people say women dey baff naked, yet na dem dey wake up in the morning dey look women wey naked for the house. Pretentious people, Nigerians. When the show starts, most of you will be going to work late, cos you want to see women wey full one house. u wan bet? Moral policemen, that is what Nigerians are, yet wetin we dey do for corner eye no fit see!

  18. Kenino Ese, thanks for your comment. I also believe you are not married, that makes the two of us. But if I may ask, do (did) you watch Big Broda? Then, if Nigerians could gloat over some girls taking their shower naked before a continent, what is this sanctimonous stand everyone on this site seem to be taking? Did you see anything wrong with the 'fingering' of Ofuneka by Richard? You gals were praying she wins the last edition of that show abi? If according to the organisers, only 12 girls will be in the house, no man, no Dbanj, I believe it will be drama unending. I will rather wait to find out if it is another prostitution or glorified one, like someone said earlier. Frank
