Mr. James Ibori, a former governor in oil rich Delta State Nigeria lost his case over a lower court pronouncement that he should be extradited to the UK from Dubai.
The former governor is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria. He is also needed in the United Kingdom to answer questions on why he should not be jailed over financial crimes.
The UK authorities working with Nigeria's EFCC filed for the extradition of Mr. Ibori to the UK and the case was decided in October. But Ibori appealed against the judgment. His wife, Mrs. Theresa Ibori had already been jailed for 5 years for financial related offenses.
