CALL FOR ENTRIES

As part of activities marking this year’s International Theatre Day tagged Remembering Ken Saro Wiwa, Arojah Royal Theatre, the performing arm of Arojah Concepts, an Abuja based edutainment and organizers of the event is doing a Playwriting Competition.

We thereby call for entries from interested playwrights in line with the following guidelines:
1. Theatre Arts undergraduate of any of Nigeria ’s tertiary institutions (Universities, Colleges of Education and Polytechnics) are encouraged to participate
2. All entries must have Peace, Conflict Resolution and Dialogue as its
central theme and or chronicle the life of KEN SARO WIWA and his Niger Delta struggle.
3. Entries set in the Niger Delta Region will enjoy added advantage
4. All entries must be original and of playwrights creative imagination except where referencing the life of Ken Saro Wiwa.
5. All entries must be stageable
6. All entries must be in English Language
7. All entries must be in MS Word doc (Garamond 14 point)
8. All entries must be not more than 45 – 60 minutes
9. Entries must not have been previously staged or won any award(s)
10. All entries must be sent to AROJAHCONCEPTS@YAHOO.COM not later than FRIDAY 29TH FEBRUARY, 2008. all entries will be acknowledged via e-mail
11. All entries should be accompanied with the personal data and contact address of all entrants.
12. A shortlist of the best six (6) entries will be published in the dailies on March 14th, 2008 while the winner will be announced on March 27th (International Theatre Day)
