TODAY IN LAGOS,NIGERIA:TOP NIGERIANS EXTOL THE VIRTUES OF LATE LEADER OF YORUBALAND, PA ABRAHAM ADESANYA

The remains of late leader of Afenifere, Pa Abraham Adesanya was given a befitting lying in state ceremony today in Lagos,Nigeria.
Organised by Lagos State Government, the event took place inside the the new Teslim Balogun Stadium opposite National Stadium Surulere,Lagos.
The Governor of Lagos State,Mr.Babatunde Raji Fashola led other several important personalities to pay tributes to the late leader of NADECO and Afenifere who survive an assasination attempt on him by the draconian government of late General Sani Abacha.
Alot of personalities who graced the occasion paid extolled the virtue of Pa Adesanya, a lawyer and native of Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State.
Almost all the shops within the Lagos State was shut as a mark of respect for the late leader of Yoruba who spoke vehemently against injustice and military rule in Nigeria.The lying in state reminded almost everyone about the accolades that poured when the late Pa Obafemi Awolowo,mentor of the late Adesanya died.Apart from the large turn out, their was also a heavy rain.In Yorubaland, when rain descend at the lying in state of a man, it connotes that he was indeed a great man in his life time.

The question on the lips of many people is "Who steps into Pa Adesanya's shoes as the leader of Yoruba people of South West Nigeria?"

ReplyDeleteI would say Asiwaju Tinubu. Although there is some controversy regarding that. For the present generation he is good. He's amiable, young at heart, understands his yoruba culture and tradition. Was a good governor when he was in that position.
ReplyDeleteMarried to a yoruba woman - I guess. (Am not being tribalistic, just saying it like i have seen it.) Generally, a good man. But at the end of the day the voice of the people matters - i guess.
There's a saying that goes that, "the voice of the people is the voice of God."
