Temitayo George, one of the winnersof West African Idol was the opening act at the event and she did just did just fine.Aside her performance,Blakky was also superb. 'Ikebe' crooner Sunny Neji was also there but did not connect to the crowd as much as when blakky came on stage singing old hits such as 'Rosie' and 'Bang Belly'
http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ watched as most of the guests clinched to their spouses when Freddie was singing beautiful love songs. To many, especially the ladies, it was an opportunity to get their husband to them ‘I love you’ again after many years in marriage.
Freddie also used the opportunity to thank Mrs. Onari Duke and other members of the organizing committee towards creating enabling healthcare platform for less privileged women and children.
The following day at Eko Hotel and Suites, where he was lodged, Freddie told http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ that he was glad with the kind of warm reception he got right from the airport. He also stated that negative situation of Nigeria has been blown out of proportion. “There is no where you won’t find crime, even in sophisticated environment like New York. Now, that I am here, I know better” He said
The musician left for Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, to catch a flight back to his New York base at exactly 8 p.m on Sunday 14 September 2008.

why is the Duke couple running away from their state,an ex-gov for that matter..why didnt they take their so-called 'charity' event to the impoverished women of Cross River state, a state they practically ran aground during their 8-year misrule..and if i may ask, why didnt they take their show to TINAPA, why Civic Centre in Lagos?. gov. Amechi of another state was there, what explains Gov Imoke's(Duke' successor)absence...rrrrubbish!!!
