Child Survival and Development Organisation, a philanthropic and non governmental organisation under the leadership of Mrs. Onari Duke, wife of former governor of Cross River State (Donald Duke) has concluded arrangement to host a concert for the Nigerian Child at the Civic centre, Victoria-Island, Lagos.
According to information gathered by http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ at a press conference organised in Lagos by the group recently, the concert would create awareness as well as generate support towards the completion of their project- a Children Hospital, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria- to arrest the increasing wave of child mortatility rate.
Mrs. Onari Duke was absent at the press conference but a member of her team, International music promoter, Dr. Tonya Merritt was press and threw more light on the event. Merritt informed us that American music star, Freddi Jackson would be in Nigeria to spice up the event.
We also gathered that corporate organisations such as MTN,Virgin Nigeria and Eko Hotel and Suites are supporting the event.
Joseph Ogbuka, who represented MTN , a leading telecom company in Nigeria told http://www.niyitabiti.blogspot.com/ that the support for the children Hospital project is part of ways MTN give back to the society. Futhermore, he said the company would continue to support good causes.
