Notable film producer in Ebiraland, Hon Mario of Calabash Film Production said that there are better days ahead for the entertainment industry and indeed Kogi State in general.

Mr. Calabash as Hon. Mario is fondly called also told gistmaster correspondent that “By the grace of God, we are looking forward to doing two big projects that will appeal to national and international market next year.
“Though our movies are in our local dialect (Ebira), but duly subtitled in English. This is the new dawn at Calabash Film Production. We want to put Ebira on the front burner of national and international cultural artistic excellence”
Based on public’s demand, our old products such as Evene, Omozamenwani and so on are now available in VCD in all our selling outlets.
Aside movie production, we also run a record label called Calabash Musik as a subsidiary of Calabash Film Production. We have a number of acts on the label such as the veteran actress Lady Tonia, Master P, Wizzy Blinks, Don Flash, XO Face, DJ Minister and Y.A.S. Calabash Musik is working hand in hand with its media partners to project those artistes to the world.
Entertainment is one big sector that has positively engaged a number of youths, therefore I plead with the government and the private sectors to give the industry a massive support.
