I was close to tears when i heard the breaking news of Whitney Houston's death.Whitney who died at Beverly Hilton Hotel in California was one of the most respected female singers of her time. She had a role model figure. Younger people wanted to be like her. She was famous, fashionable and was swimming in fortune.
Everyone was shocked when she got married to Bobby Brown in
1992.It was unbelievable because at that time,Bobby already had the bad boy image,he had kids from previous relationships, everyone thought they were 'opposites'.Despite the media reports,Whitney confessed that she was following her heart desires.
WHITNEY ON DRUGS- In 1993, the couple had their daighter Bobby Kristiana.It was not long after that it was discovered that Whitney was already hooked on drugs because of alleged bad influences from Bobby Brown her husband.
The situiation took a toll on her as she started developing some erractic behaviour. Finally, Whitney filed for divorce in 2006 at Orange County Superior Court,New Jersey.Many people said it took too long for her to quit the marriage that have completely almost turned her into a social and pyschological wreck.
Bobby Brown (Born February 5 1969) had another child after his marriage to Whitney collapsed and he is got engaged to Alicia Etheridge,mother of his new baby in 2010)
Whitney was a great woman.Whether or not the award winning singer made a wrong choice in love is not the issue now,she deserves the last respect and may her soul rest in peace. I gathered that Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan are going to pay tributes to her with songs at this year's Grammy Awards, that an honour well deserved.
As i write this piece, i have the wondrous song of the legendary pop queen, Whitney playing on the background. You can listen too- "I will always love you"
