Story & photos by Niyi Tabiti
Award winning nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is a fine girl anytime ,anyday. I remember the first time I saw her at a restaurant on Raymond Njoku street,Ikoyi. It was at the media screening of a film produced by former Nigeria's goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro (elder brother of Celestine Babayaro).
Chioma played a major role in the movie. At that time, not much was known about her but some of us who saw the movie knew that it was only a matter of time, Chioma would go far in the movie industry.
So, it was not a suprise when gistmaster and other paparazzi at the Phone Swap film premiere in Lagos took interest in having the latest photographs of the actress on the red carpet.Wondering why some celebs like to adjust and re-adjust their dresses when they get to events. Chioma was caught in this mood, adjusting her outfits at every slightest opportunity (I bet some stylists need work to do here). One of the rules of fashion is "It it doesn't fit, don't wear"
First photo:Chioma doing the adjustment on her dress so don't think thats where she keeps her money!

Posing for photographs- Chioma Chukwuka, a nollywood actress on the red carpet |
ha ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for spelling out this very basic rule of fashion "IF it doesn't fit, DON'T wear'!
Our celebrities like to force themselves into things they have no business wearing!
And many of them, even with their so-called wealth has simply refused to employ stylists!!! And they walk on red carpets! I DON'T get it!
Anyway, hope you don't mind, I am sharing these images with my readers on my blog - http://www.whatwhoandwear.com.

hahahaha the caption on the "adjustment" photo is too funny lol
ReplyDelete@ Estella, I don't think that it's that the dress doesn't fit her. Of course, she should have done her adjustments in the bathroom, she was most likely ensuring that her girls were secured, I don't know any lady who has not done what Chioma is doing in this picture. I thought she looked great, the bodice was a good fit, she is not overflowing up top. She has the appropriate brassiere for the dress and once she was posing, we can see that the dress is a great fit for her IMPO.
ReplyDelete@ Naveah, Estella is right. The dress doesn't fit. The area around her underams are spilling over. And no it's not normal to fix yourself on the red carpet so I don't know the ladies you are referring to. I don't know if that's how it's done in Nigeria, but it is unsightly! Her hair looks nasty! She looks a hot mess!
